Trying new things

On Etsy (and in business in general, really), one of the most important things you can try to do is successfully brand yourself so that you are easily recognizable and stand out! My goal for the early half of this year is to try to make my photos cute and uniform in a way that people will think of me when they see them. I am also trying to add as many cute touches to my crafts as possible, such as lovely vibrant zipper pull ribbons! I love the pop it adds to this coin purse.

Happy Houses Kawaii Zippered Coin Purse for $7.50

The idea for a new touch that I am most excited about is adding is the incorporation of embroidery into my designs! Having had a taste of embroidery making my first embroidery project with the Zodiac Embroidery Kit by MiniatureRhino, I really cannot wait to hone my skills.

I plan on make some adorable love letter style pouches with this gorgeous note pad fabric from Japan, with loving words embroidered on in cursive! Keep checking in to see when those show up in the shop within the next few weeks. I'll be so excited to make this a permanent addition to the shop.

Sold by this adorable fabric shop - stefaniexu of Beijing!

Take care, friends! I hope all of the new things you have been trying for the new year have been working our successfully! :)

New Listings 10/2 // Fabric Labels

Here are a few new listings that I've put up over the past week. :)

Look how crisp they are!

If you are very observant, you might have noticed that the last picture has a label in it! That's because I finally received my custom made satin fabric labels today in the mail. I absolutely love them. They add so much class to my items, and they're so soft and sturdy. I'd definitely recommend JennifersJewels if anyone else is in need of fabric labels.

Take care, friends! ♥

Shizuka Urusai loves PINCUSHIONS

Most would assume that the most difficult items for me to make in my shops are probably the zipper pouches. A lot of people have the fear of sewing zippers. Well, for me, I think pincushions are by far the most challenging. They combine so many different types of techniques! They're very fun to make, but can be tricky. So I have a great appreciation for those who make them.

So today's blog post is an Etsy shop feature of those who make super cute pincushions with a little something extra to make them POP! Enjoy!

I would never have thought to add crochet applique. Awesome!  By namolio in England!

Holy moley, that's making my mouth water! Too cute! By SeaPinks.

Hahah, that's so original and brilliant! Love it! By supah

Wow, that must take some skill to make! Plus, super cute bees are plus! By joycemac634

Oh, he is too precious! I want him, though I'd feel sad sticking needles into him! ;)

Shizuka Urusai loves the seedlings

Your Cute For The Day:

Remember when I posted about my tiny eggling sprouts a few weeks ago? Look how big it has grown since! They have their second leaves and are growing their third set of leaves now. :)

I love the spiky shapes some of these leaves are taking. :) If I didn't tell you guys before, this plant is going to be a daisy!

Have a wonderful weekend, guys! My craft fair is tomorrow (yes, the weather will be nice, so it's on like Donkey Kong!) so I'll have photos and news on that soon. :) <3
